RAMSEY OUTDOOR has supported our NJ Outdoor Championship in recent years, handling the transfer of gun prizes for the winners of each class and random drawings.  The following special note of thanks is posted at the request of Mike Westock, 2006 top Expert:

Ron Coleman at Ramsey Outdoor went out of his way in accommodating my request to upgrade from the GI model to the XD-45 model. But, not only for me, but for my friend Reggie Thomas, also!

Bullseye Coach

National Record holder, 2650 Club, Distinguished Pistol shot will coach on an hourly or daily basis:  Interested in improving your technique and raising your scores?  Find out what is holding you back from shooting your best.  I offer hourly ($18) and daily ($125) training sessions with emphasis on the fundamentals and mental management tailored to your individual needs. I can supply references of the those who have taken the all day seminar.

Call Ron Steinbrecher at 215-836-7184 for more information.

    NEW PERSONAL RECOMMENDATION (May 2005):
I took Ron Steinbrechers day long seminar on bullseye shooting four years ago, shortly after shooting my first 2700 match. Ron spend several hours going over in great detail all of the fundamentals of shooting first a single shot and then a string of sustained fire. While you can learn these things from a book or from watching others shoot, there is no substitute for a teacher explaining each step clearly while demonstrating each point.     Ron also explained the need for systematic planning, goal setting and training. A few of his tips saved me lots of unproductive aimless “practice”. I left that day felling confident that I had the tools at my disposal to improve my shooting with patience and hard work.

Over the past for years Ron has time and again offered additional advice and support, as any good coach would. Three years ago after a very poor showing in the State championship I was packing up to leave and ship the leg match. Ron convinced me to stay and he also stayed even though he was not shooting. I feel that his support and encouragement during that match helped me to shoot a 270, earning my first 10 leg points.

I would recommend Ron to anyone looking to improve their shooting, especially some one new to the sport. For the cost of a few thousand bullet heads, you will get a firm foundation on which to build.

 - James Aglione
(now both Indoor and Outdoor MA!)

I pass along the comments of one of Ron's recent students, who spoke to me candidly about his learning experience as a topic of conversation, not intending to be giving a "testimonial" at the time.  This gentleman told me it was "the best thing he ever did" (to improve his shooting).  Apparently he really enjoyed it as well.

Ken Uzar – NRA Certified Firearms Instructor – 732-651-0655

 shooter4@comcast.net

Since the attack on our country many concerned Americans have decided to purchase firearms for the first time.  A new firearm owner should learn how to safely handle, operate, store and maintain the firearm.

These courses were developed by the National Rifle Association and can only be given by NRA certified instructors.  Upon successful completion of the course the students receive a certificate from the NRA.  We try to maintain a 3 to 8 student class for these courses.  You do not need to be a member of the NRA to attend these courses. The NRA certificates can be used to prove training requirements to obtain an out-of-state CCW. Each course is 90% classroom study and 10% live fire.

Courses available:

1.     First Steps - Firearm Safety and Handling [Pistol, Rifle or Shotgun] (3 hours - $50)

This is the minimum training that should be taken by the new firearm owner.  It covers the fundamentals ofhandling, operating, maintaining and storing a firearm safely.  It is available in a small group setting or one-on-one if you prefer.  It will give you the basics of safe firearm ownership and usage. You also receive the appropriate NRA booklets and “Firearm Laws for NJ”.

2.     NRA Certified Basic Pistol Course (10 hours - $125)

Teaches the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for owning and using a handgun safely.

Other NRA certified courses such as personal protection; rifle and shotgun shooting, metallic and shotshell re-loading are available by request.

Free consultation regarding the proper firearm to be used for; home defense, concealed carry, target shooting, plinking, etc.

Member of the Old Bridge Rifle & Pistol Club.

Letter sent to NJPistol.com from a satisfied student:

Hi,

I'm not usually one to send in an endorsement type of letter.  But, since I see that you have a blurb on
your site for Ken Uzar I felt that it was extremely necessary for me to comment.  Keep in mind when you
read this that I am from a military and federal law enforcement background.

I recently re-evaluated my shooting knowledge and skills and found a need for improvement.  I signed-up
and attended an NRA Certified Basic Pistol Course conducted by Ken Uzar.  Before class I perused the
manual.  There was no doubt in my mind that covering this material was going to make for a very long "10
hour" day.  I was mentally preparing myself for the long day when he started the class.  Within the first
couple of minutes or so the mindset of boredom was gone.  Ken, kept the class interesting and my
preconceived notion of boredom at bay.  His knowledge of the material and presentation sent my preceptions
out the window and I thoroughly enjoyed the class and managed 100% on the final exam.

I have been proficiently shooting for several years, both long gun and pistol.  After firing a few rounds
during the range portion of the class Ken pointed out some "not so good" habits that I had almost
immediately.  He took the time to instruct me on how to correct them.  By the end of the session my
technique improved enough to consistantly rapid fire hit "Xs" and "10s" at 15 yards with iron sight (my
weapon is a Beretta Model 96 (.40 cal. S&W) which has a "bit" of a kick to it).

When I first signed-up for the course I had no plans of continuing "shooting" as a form recreation.  Since
the session with Ken I've changed my mind and will actually enter a low-level bullseye league at the end
of the month to improve my efficiency at distance.  I also plan on continuing on with Ken as my coach.  I
encourage anyone considering any of the NRA classes or just looking to improve there shooting skills to
consider Ken.

Sincerely,

Michael F. Solecki
